Philanthropy

All proceeds from Tri Phi Mu philanthropy endeavors go to Children's Miracle Network (CMN). CMN is Phi Mu Fraternity's primary philanthropy focus. Some 160 children's hospitals nationwide benefit from collegiate and alumnae chapter fund-raising events yearly. The full 100 percent of money raised stays in the locale where it is raised for patient care, new equipment and research into children's diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Since 1986, Phi Mus have raised nearly $2.5 million. The Phi Mu fund-raising goal is $250,000 each year.

Phi Mu Fraternity also supports Project HOPE (Health Opportunity for People Everywhere), which was adopted as the Fraternity's national philanthropy in 1963. The main objective of Project Hope is to teach the latest techniques of American medical science to medical, dental and allied health personnel in developing countries.

WUNC-TV Festival
Tri Phi Mu members volunteers time during the March WUNC-TV Festival, which raises funding for this North Carolina Public Broadcasting Station. Behind the scenes, we compete to see who tallies the most contributions!

Phi Mu Philanthropy Day
To participate in Philanthropy Day each October, Tri Phi Mu takes pumpkins and paints to the children at Duke Children's Hospital. It's a lot of fun spending time with the children and helping them to decorate their own pumpkin.
Holiday Toy Drive
In addition to sharing scrumpcious holiday dishes, Tri Phi Mu collects toys for local children. This year the toys were donated to Toys for Tots.
